Tommy’s Place provides magical vacation homes on Cape Cod for children battling cancer and their families, offering a much-needed escape filled with joy, relaxation, and adventure. The homes, located in Falmouth and Centerville, are beautifully designed to create an enchanting experience, complete with themed rooms, games, and activities. By giving families a space to make lasting memories away from hospitals and treatments, Tommy’s Place serves as a beacon of hope and happiness. Reliable Fence Company of Cape Cod is honored to contribute to these homes, helping maintain their beauty and privacy for the deserving families they serve.

Back in 2020 one of our co-owners Derrick Pratt saw a Facebook post about Tommy’s Place and its work renovating a property in Falmouth, to provide respite for children and families battling cancer. Upon seeing the post Derrick reached out to the founder and visionary of Tommy’s Place, Tim O’Connell,  and we proceeded to donate 100% of the fencing needs (materials and labor) at the Falmouth location and soon after at their second location in Centerville. Our supplier of vinyl fence, Bridgewater Polyvinyl, stepped up to donate all the vinyl fence for the Falmouth location as well!

Additionally, in 2023 we contributed to “Tommy’s Place Third Annual Going For Gold Sponsor-A-Week” campaign, which provided the funds to sponsor a family for a week’s stay. We cannot say enough about this incredible organization and the great work it does to provide such meaningful experiences to families facing the hardest times.

Cape Cod BMX is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a love of BMX racing and providing a safe, family-friendly space for riders of all ages and skill levels. Located in Sandwich, the track hosts regular practices, races, and events, creating an environment where riders can build confidence, make connections, and develop athletic skills. The organization also offers opportunities for local youth to compete at a national level, promoting both physical activity and community spirit. Reliable Fence Company of Cape Cod is proud to support Cape Cod BMX, ensuring the track remains a welcoming and secure space for Cape Cod’s aspiring athletes.

The organization contacted us in 2021 looking for business donations and sponsorships. They were specifically looking for split rail fence, and we were happy to provide it! We donated split rail fence materials to be installed at the track, to help define their riding area. We continue to support them and are community business sponsors for the 2024 season. 

New England Wildlife Centers are vital resources for wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education, operating two non-profit wildlife hospitals in Barnstable and Weymouth. The centers provide medical care for injured and orphaned wildlife, including a low-cost exotics practice, ensuring the preservation of our local ecosystems. In addition to its rehabilitation work, the centers educate the community about wildlife conservation through workshops, school programs, and hands-on learning opportunities, bringing STEM education programs to 10,000 students each year. Reliable Fence Company of Cape Cod is proud to support the New England Wildlife Centers' mission by contributing to their facilities and helping create safe and functional spaces for their essential work.

Beginning in 2021 we have regularly provided fencing materials at cost for their properties. We first started working with them on their Cape Cod location, when they reached out for information on their perimeter fencing to define the property line. Since then we have worked to build out multiple projects across Barnstable and Weymouth, including a predator enclosure that is used to house large predators such as coyotes and bears; a raptor flight building to allow raptors to have more area to fly while rehabbing; a corral fence for goat enclosure; and an extensive cedar fence to help them better define their nature trail while providing a more effective barrier for the surrounding neighbors.

Additionally, we donate money quarterly to this organization and sponsor their fascinating Night of 1,000 Faces at their Weymouth location which features hundreds of creatively carved pumpkins that light the way along the the nature trail we have helped define. All proceeds support wildlife care and education at their centers.

The MSPCA of Cape Cod serves as a haven for animals in need, providing shelter, medical care, and adoption services to cats, dogs, and other pets. Beyond direct animal care, the MSPCA engages in community outreach programs, advocating for animal welfare and offering resources to pet owners. Their Barnstable location is a critical part of the Cape Cod community, uniting animals with loving homes and educating the public about responsible pet ownership. Reliable Fence Company of Cape Cod is grateful to support the ongoing efforts of the MSPCA, ensuring that rehomed pets are set up for success in their new homes, and feeling safe and secure.

We are animal lovers through and through! As we like to say, our fences help “keep your pets in and your neighbors out!” that’s why we’ve long offered a discount to new pet owners that adopt a pet through MSPCA’s Cape Cod Adoption Center and need a new fence! Our fences provide added privacy and security for our community’s furry friends and we’re proud to support the work of this pawsitively awesome organization.
